We believe a true understanding of what our classes are like comes only from actual participation. Who knows? Perhaps in a few years, you’ll be one of the senior students, welcoming beginners who were once just like you!

Our incoming students vary in experience levels–some have trained in other styles while others are just starting out for the first time. Whatever your experience level, we encourage you to come. Safety is our number one priority, so if you’re not comfortable with something, please let us know.

When you join, you’ll start learning new things right away. As you progress in your training, you’ll be able to learn more advanced techniques, and the intensity of the classes will rise.

Your First Classes

Your first classes are bound to be filled with new information and lots of unfamiliar techniques. Not to worry! It is natural to feel confused and overwhelmed. There is no need to get frustrated–everyone, colored belt or not, is still working on these techniques!

In the earlier stages of your training, do your best to copy the upper belts. This traditional style of learning may sound old-fashioned, but this method works well for learning the physical aspects of the martial art. Finally, ask A LOT of questions if you’re confused. We’re here to help you.
